When did you start your weight loss journey?
My weight loss journey started in May 2021.
What was your motivation?
I was not happy with myself. Every time I looked in the mirror, it made me depressed. I had put on too much weight due to menopause.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
What inspires me to keep going is for health reasons. I don’t want to feel like I felt at 230 pounds.
How did you change your eating habits?
I had to stop eating out in restaurants and start cooking healthy food at home. So I stopped eating chips, cookies, sweets, white bread, and pasta.
I didn’t want my trainer to give me a meal plan. I just want him to tell me my macros. Which is how much protein, carbs, and fat I should take in each day. Every Saturday, I plan my meals for the week and have my groceries delivered on Sunday to prep my meals.
What did your workout routine consist of? How many days a week did you work out?
I work out five days a week, four days of weightlifting and one full body workout day. On Mondays, I double up and do early morning yoga and upper body weightlifting, followed by 30 minutes of cardio each day after my workouts.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I’m down to 166 pounds from a size 18 to a size 6!
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest thing I’ve learned in my journey is to just have the discipline to stay consistent. Because if you stay disciplined, no matter how you feel, the results will come.
